On April 30, 2025, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Cambodia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and the Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA), hosted a Knowledge Sharing Seminar under the theme “Promotion of Investment in Cambodia through Intellectual Property and the Patent Recognition Programme”. The seminar brought together approximately 100 participants from government agencies, the IP sector, and related industries.

The event aimed to strengthen Cambodia’s intellectual property (IP) ecosystem and promote the effective implementation of the Patent Recognition Programme (PRP) as a tool to attract foreign investment. Presentations covered national IP strategies, a proposed KOICA–Ministry of Commerce collaboration on trademark management, and updates on KOICA's capacity-building programs. The seminar also emphasized the crucial role of IP in encouraging foreign direct investment (FDI) and fostering innovation-driven growth.

Key topics included investment promotion strategies, recent developments in Cambodia’s IP landscape, collaborative initiatives with KOICA, and international best practices in IP management. The program also introduced the PRP system in detail and provided practical guidance on using the online platform for filing patent and industrial design applications.
