China Hosts Intellectual Property Conference for Belt and Road Countries

On September 11-13, 2024, China will host the 3rd High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property for the Belt and Road initiative countries in Beijing. The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) announced that the event will bring together leaders from approximately 70 intellectual property institutions, with representatives from international and regional organizations, and embassies, totaling around 450 participants.

Key topics will include regional cooperation, sustainable development, digital transformation, and strategies to enhance the value of intellectual property. The conference will also feature meetings led by CNIPA, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Eurasian Patent Office, focusing on how intellectual property can drive business innovation.

China's commitment to fostering IP cooperation with Belt and Road countries through agreements, training programs, and expert exchanges underscores its dedication to advancing global intellectual property standards and practices. This conference further solidifies China's role in enhancing international collaboration and innovation in intellectual property.
