China is actively addressing intellectual property concerns to ensure fair protection for both domestic and foreign innovators, according to Guo Wen, an official from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).

China has aligned its IP policies with international standards, focusing on efficient dispute resolution and fostering regular communication with foreign enterprises. The country has joined nearly all major international IP treaties and is a significant user of global patent, trademark, and design registration systems under the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Recent revisions to trademark and patent laws reflect China’s commitment to implementing strict punitive measures that meet the highest international benchmarks. Efforts to combat malicious patent invalidation and trademark filings have also yielded positive outcomes, resolving disputes involving businesses from various countries.

To support foreign enterprises, CNIPA has established regular communication channels through symposiums held in key regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Guangdong, ensuring that concerns are heard and addressed effectively.
